Service overview

An estate-wide findings list is useful only when teams understand exposure, ownership and remediation impact. Clouvenix reviews selected AWS, Azure or Google Cloud resources against the organization’s actual operating model. We combine configuration evidence with application context, identify meaningful trust-boundary gaps and prioritize changes. The outcome is a scoped assessment and actionable backlog, with optional validation of agreed remediations rather than a claim that a scan proves complete security.

When this service is useful

This engagement helps organizations understand cloud security findings in the context of actual assets, owners and business exposure. It is useful when scanner results are numerous but nobody can agree which actions matter first. We review the selected cloud scope and validate representative findings, turning observations into a practical remediation backlog with evidence, ownership and an explicit boundary around what was assessed.

Design and operating decisions

Asset coverage and finding validation

We establish which accounts, subscriptions or projects are in scope and what visibility the assessment has. Findings are checked against configuration and exposure evidence where access allows. Incomplete inventory or restricted access is recorded as a limitation, so the report does not imply coverage of systems that were not available for examination.

Prioritization and remediation ownership

Severity labels are considered alongside internet exposure, privilege, data sensitivity and application dependencies. We identify the team able to make each change and the evidence required to close it. Exceptions need an owner and review condition, allowing the backlog to become an operating process rather than a report that expires without action.

Scope and deliverables

  • Cloud asset and control-scope definition
  • Identity and public-exposure configuration review
  • Logging, encryption and recovery-control assessment
  • Contextual finding prioritization and ownership
  • Remediation planning and selected retests

Delivery approach

1. Agree the review boundary

Identify accounts or subscriptions, asset owners, business-critical workflows and approved evidence access. Record exclusions and avoid collecting unnecessary sensitive data.

2. Assess configuration in context

Review the selected controls and correlate findings with actual exposure and dependencies. Distinguish a meaningful operational risk from an unsupported scanner assumption.

3. Prioritize and verify action

Deliver findings with evidence, ownership and proposed corrective steps. Retest the agreed changes and record residual limitations or exceptions.

Illustrative engagement

An illustrative engagement could review a cloud estate where many alerts describe public access but their business purpose is unclear. We select the agreed accounts, trace representative exposed resources to application owners and validate the relevant configuration. Customer teams then agree prioritized changes and exceptions. A sample remediation is checked after implementation where included in scope. The outcome is a reviewable backlog and coverage statement, without presenting the assessment as a penetration test or a guarantee that every weakness has been found.

Acceptance evidence

AreaEvidence reviewed
CoverageThe report identifies the assets and control areas actually reviewed, including explicit exclusions.
ActionabilityEach accepted finding has supporting evidence, business context and a named remediation owner.
VerificationSelected remediations are checked against observed configuration and the relevant application boundary.

Before we start

Provide approved read access, resource inventories, security objectives and workload owners. Any active validation beyond read-only configuration review requires a separately agreed test boundary.

Planning the scope

Scope depends on cloud providers, account count, asset diversity, existing security tooling and the level of access available. Findings that require application investigation may need additional owners. Discovery separates posture review from penetration testing, compliance attestation, continuous monitoring and full remediation, selecting the environments and evidence requirements before assessment work begins.

Handover and ownership

Handover provides the assessed asset scope, evidence-backed findings, priority rationale and remediation ownership. We explain how the customer can verify closure and distinguish an accepted exception from a resolved issue. The review includes access or visibility limitations and a practical next-action list, giving security and platform teams a shared basis for remediation planning and subsequent assessment.

Ongoing operations

A posture assessment describes an estate at a point in time. New resources and permissions can introduce new exposure after the review. We recommend an agreed route for recurring checks, exception review and remediation tracking, with ongoing security operations or hands-on remediation included only to the extent defined in the customer's engagement and operating responsibilities.

Boundaries and support

This service is not a penetration test, regulatory attestation or guarantee that no vulnerability exists. Changes to production controls are staged and approved as implementation work.

Frequently asked questions

Do you rely only on automated scanners?

No. Automated evidence can support the review, but findings are evaluated against actual configuration, access paths and workload context before prioritization.

Can you fix the findings as well?

Implementation can follow the assessment under an agreed change scope. Access, maintenance windows and application acceptance are defined before restrictive changes.

Will this make us compliant?

The assessment can support a control-improvement program, but formal compliance decisions and attestations depend on the applicable framework, complete evidence and authorized reviewers.
